Did I lose my chance at shapeshifters?

I lost the duel to the main Shapeshifter guy and had to give his brother back. I've yet to get any prompts or abilities to get shapeshifters since then. Did I lose my chance?

Yup. Welcome to the club. You need to put of doing the Shapeshifter camp raid to get that guy's brother until you are strong enough to have a gladiator win that battle you just lost. It's a bit of Meta Knowledge to hold off on that battle for a while. Don't worry about it too much.

I beat him several times in his Arena, never worked. You gotta beat him when he challenges you 1v1

Magic shields for tanking him. While building damage output. (dual wielding with a magic weapon enchant like lightning) CC tends to be bad in that fight as he has very high resist to long stuns and it will give him time to use howl or his own cc while waiting for his pounce to come off cd.

Try to delay the fight by not attacking the camp until you unlock the Blackthorn armor set, I used Shield Defender with rank 3 of the healing skill from commander. Set the character attack direction to front. when the battle starts run to the corners where the spikes are. Make sure you max out the shield bash stun skill and the final skill from the shield tree. Once he aggro's on you try to maneuver around him so his back is at the spikes, the final skill of shield tree can push him back a little and cause damage. He will stay in beast form for about 30s more or less once he becomes human again he typically does a forward charge then morphs back to Bear form, Stun him as soon as he becomes human and move behind him so when he charges he gets a face full of spikes . Rinse and repeat until he dies. I was able to do this at lvl 15 prior to the last patch. Idk if changes have been made since then. good luck! A$$bjorn is basically a cheat character lol.

Delay camp mission till your main 1vs1 guy can beat him handidly (which means legendary armor set, proper build, lvl 16-18+ minimum, yadda yadda). It's pretty much the same as with Lin and Ronin duel quest, although it's much easier since Lin is 2h, top row Ronin, and her sister is dualwield, lower row Ronin and dualwield suck major ass in current meta.

The problem with Asbjorn is his insane HP regen, since he can be in a form pretty much whole time, so he is a gear/level check.

You don't need magic/ronin/werewolf to beat the grand games, standard genre set is more than enough, I don't think I ever lost grand games when you get access to death prevention potion and bring max level, properly geared / properly skilled gladiators - it's always a stomp.

I used my PvE gladiators for this fight. (he resists a lot of the CC)
A 2h fighter/zerker.
No stun/knockdown skills, all stats and raw damage. Lvl 19 (Epics, no blackthorn armor)

There really should be an offering if you lose to rematch or do a 4v4 or something at his arena to get another chance at shifters.

TBH (hot take incoming)
Shifters are really weak and badly need a buff. (only 15 sec transform time limit, 45 sec CD, and no other skills, abilities, or passives work when shifted.

If you are a shifter, you are 100% shifter, no thing else. Nothing synergizes with this skill tree. Not even Battle monk or Unarmed.

You are better off without one, BUT they are interesting and fun.
