Biglands: A Game Made By Kids

Biglands: A Game Made By Kids

I feel this needs an explanation
I feel something is missing, like an article about how the game came to be and how the kids were involved in the project and how it all worked. I remember seeing a flash game before designed by a girl; I think it had something to do with a unicorn. Anyway, the article about how the game was made and came to be was interesting and I feel a similar treatment here would be nice rather than just stating it's "made by kids" on the store page.

That's the one.
I feel like I need to have a little hope that the Steam Forums aren't that much of a cesspool of internet hell that someone will make a stupid, angry, nerd post about this game and how it doesn't belong and how dare Valve do this to them!!!

You didn't do it OP, but as soon as I saw the game, I went to the forums and sighed because only misery and pain lay in the forums of Steam.
If there already were a game with this style on steam then I'm sure there would be comments. In a way the graphic style is the originality. I suppose that like cube voxel games it is conceivable that you could have different styles of games all drawn by kids, but I'm not sure how well that would go down. Like I said, the style is the originality; the style is what people are going to buy the game for.

I dont see a website about this game as well.
Well we'll just have to assume they kidnapped kids, locked them in a basement and forced them to draw monsters until we hear otherwise.

yeah thats exactly what i thought, im easily willing to buy this game, but when there was abrely any info like:

how much do the kids get....

do they have ambitions ?

is this game almost totally made by kids, what age ? or did they only do the "artwork"?

those are important qeustions.... especially on how much will the kids get, or are the ecploited, or even better, are there even kids ?

haha

you see what we mean ? :ghlol:

I completely agree, there's not enough information on the store page. I want to know what age, where they're from, why they have made a game, where, to the final cent, the money goes, etc. etc. I wanna know things.

I laughed. I laughed at children. I'm a bad person.

if you ask me, little kids are better game designers than teenagers tbh (tweens included). Because when puberty hits, so will the need to resolve self-esteem issues by attempting to fit in (i.e. creation of zombie, 'craft', and slender games)

Nice to see a thoughtful discussion about this. I was curious too, and had hoped to find a little more background on this title. I'm all for this type of development, but surely there's a story to be told here.

That's why I came here. I'm curious to know how this game came about, even though it doesn't interest me to play it.

I'm also curious - How did this game come about ?
I feel like this game should include a "Making Of" featurette or something.
I think the audience for this sort of game would appreciate that.
