Constantly dropping items when trying to drag with left click!

I have not seen any other threads about this. when I first load into the game, everything works properly. it doesn't take long tho before dragging items becomes a mess. even moving things in my inventory is difficult. I click and hold down on an item and when i go to drag it it snaps back as if i let go of click. I am not even dragging fast. It makes inventory management, packing, cooking, and growing all a nightmare.
