Changing clothing caused game breaking bug in co-op

I was playing with my friend and trying to change my clothes while in the laundromat. I tried replacing my black t-shirt I had on with the white shirt I had in my inventory. I don't remember what happened inbetween doing that but the white t-shirts in my inventory started duplicating and my UI bugged and I ended up not being able to select anything.

After this happened I decided to alt+f4 and my friend did not save. We tried reloading the save after all of this happened and now I'm stuck on an infinite loading screen whenever I try to load back into the game.

To add onto this, my friend can no longer access any sort of shelf or storage around the map.
