shelves being emptied by workers
i bought stock after stock wondering why was not getting ahead and product wasn't being made. after investigating i watched a worker empty a fully stocked shelve and walk back outside deleting the items instead of bringing it to the machine as asked... spend hours upon hours and 10's of thousands in game just for things to be deleted. NOT GONNA KEEP PLAYING TILL THIS IS FIXED CAUSE ITS JUST FRUSTRATING.

I fixed this bug by removing the handler and hiring a new one. Worked after that and now I keep an eye for this bug to happen again.

Yes mate!!! This is my issue.

Last night after buying the barn I set up a full production line. Having handlers transport items to my mixing stations. I had a full large storage rack full of Viagra (160 items). I took a trip to buy more baggies and when I come back the storage rack is completely empty, and they haven't been delivered to the mixing station. I ended up alt+F4'ing in a fit of rage and returned to the game today.

I set up my barn slightly different and reset all my assignments. Literally the same thing happened,... 160 Viagra just deleted from the rack. I didn't see it in real time but I assume its the handler that is assigned to the job who is deleting/stealing them?

A similar thing happened where I have a handler transporting the weed from one shelf to another, but the items just get taken from one rack then stolen/deleted by the handler.

If this is an intended mechanic where you need to keep an eye on employees stealing from you, then it needs to be removed. It's sooo unsatisfying to set up a full production line for it all to be just messed up by a stupid mechanic of staff theft. When you set up a production line like that, you just want it to work, and that's where you get satisfaction. I also don't want to have to beat my employees or fire and rehire them. It's not fun... at all.

ALSO!

I tried to report this exact bug/mechanic via the in-game submit a bug function, and got an error message saying I cannot submit the bug.... I mean.. come on.

I got the same issue, tried everything and the only thing that fixed it for me was firing.

I wonder if this is a game feature and some employees can steal
Someone else figured out that this happens if you interact with a shelf or workstation (either can cause it) while an employee is trying to move items from the shelf to the workstation i.e. a botanist trying to get seeds for one of their pots. He claimed you can fix it by putting away both the shelf and station that caused the bug, though I haven't had it come up since I learned what causes it so I haven't tested that fix.
