i tried sneakily joining your game through your steam profile but it's just stuck on loading. surprise ruined.

I'm having frequent frame rate issues. It isn't your system, it's the game. Try loading a new game, you'll probably notice your frame rate will be at whatever you set it to. I haven't found a way to solve it except by making a new game.

If you look at a core by core breakdown, some of your cores are probably hitting their limits, cause the game doesn't use all my core, and it can get quite cpu intensive. I run at 60-80 fps in the same circumstances on a 5600x with a 4070ti super in 1440p.

Turning off godrays/SSAO might help, but I suspect much more you're being bottlenecked by CPU, much like every game like this ever. (Rimworld, etc..) :P

Are you having stutters every ~3 seconds ? These are related to employee AI, idle employees take up a lot of resources cause they need to compute every 3 seconds if they can actually do something. Make sure your botanist esp aren't stuck unable to work because they're out of supply/their output is full.

Tyler mentioned he's looking into that problem afaik.

No, my FPS gets tanked to around 8 fps. It's entirely specific to that game save, I get a solid 144 FPS on High on a fresh new game, meaning it's something to do with the game itself. I get 60-100 fps on Ultra even if High gets 8 fps. For my main save I can no longer use High. Occasionally it will happen even on Medium and Low, but restarting the game (sometimes) fixes that. Sometimes I need to restart Steam. Clearing trash with the console does nothing.

I still get this issue when I have no employees.

try making sure your employees aren't stuck idle. It's the only thing ever that tanks performance for me on a nearly 1 million total worth save. :P

I don't have these problems with a 5600x, there's clearly something bottlenecking somewhere, suspecting it's not just the game. ><

Like I mentioned though, it's really important you keep your employees busy, stop paying them otherwise, idle employees is the main performance sink rn and it will ruin your experience if you let them be idle. :P

There is definitely something wrong on your end, running other AAA titles at 200FPS doesn't mean anything, if I run on a brand new save, I run at 120fps, and am running at 4k and downscaling to 1440p.

I have similar issues with FPS tanking after about an hour of play, i have FPS limited to 60 in Nvidia controlpanel, it can be maintained without issues for about one hour, then something happens, not sure what, and FPS goes way down, around 40, with drops down to 30 at times. BUUUUUT a reboot fixes this issue, which is weird, are there some garbage temp files written somewhere that a reboot would clear up? other games run fine after that hour. and a quit and restart of Schedule 1 doens NOT help, but a reboot does. annoying to say the least. Same issue on my steam deck, but since its using wine there, a quit and restart of Schedule 1 is enough.

The computer is decent. 13gen i7 and RTX 4070, 16GB DDR5 Ram.

Raising the priority in processexplorer helps quite a bit, but the game needs optimizations for sure, this is early days for S1! remember its EA, Its a gamle to play EA games ;)

I don't think that's the issue since I tried firing all my employees and I still got fps issues. I'll try again and see if it helps.

Bruh, you are a legend. I’m playing on steam deck and while the performance is not ideal to begin with, one in-game morning it just became entirely unplayable. Tried every proton out there and reinstalled the game 4 times. In the end blamed it on the new update, but no, it’s just that I set up a dock with a bunch of employees for the first time but they ran out of work.. Thanks dude
