if someone asks for something for free (this game for example) and you cannot provide it, why bother responding to it because you are mad. Telling someone to get a job and doing what you do is so dumb. I get it. Most people are exhausted. They purchase something with money that they worked way too long for, then see someone asking for that same thing without putting in that same work....so those people get pissed. But...I'm just saying...you don't have to provide that product to the people who ask for it. If you cannot afford to gift that product to someone else, then you are not the target audience to gift them that game. So why are you mad? You don't know those people's circumstances. Not everyone lives the same as you. Expecting everyone to live the same as you is dumb. Getting genuinely upset at other people asking for something you don't have to give them is dumb too. You are just upset that you didn't ask and get it through that method. You are afraid of those people getting that same thing for less effort. That is all this whole thing is. Chill. If you are mad, blame the authorities. The government. Anyone in charge really....anyone else is also the victim...even if they are the victim in a different way than you are.

It's not about being able to afford giving it or not.

It's that begging is against Steam's rules, and even if it wasn't, that sort of behavior shouldn't be encouraged.

Are some of the sob stories true? Probably.

Is there a lot of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? Definitely.

Is anybody owed a video game? No.

Yes, ideally, those threads should just get reported and not replied to at all.

Unfortunately, that would be an unrealistic expectation, and there will always be replies.

And since there will always be replies, they should at least be overwhelmingly a collective "no".

Anything less just encourages more begging and scamming.

No one's entitled to a free video game just because it's the latest popular thing that all the influencers are talking about.

No idea what you are trying to say. People get offended at blatant begging because it takes zero effort to beg, and it really does teach the beggar the wrong lesson.
Nobody wants to support a beggars interests when it takes work to make the cash in the first place. Begging is basically saying "I'm too lazy to earn the money or cheap to spend my own, so I will pass the expense onto you for my own enjoyment."
If you are struggling then ask for groceries or a better job. You don't need a game to distract you any more than they already do, if they are preventing you from going and finding a job.
Other working people are not your personal wallets to get upset at when they say no.

You know the solution? You don't respond. You don't have to spend any money on anyone that you don't want to. You can keep all your money to yourself. Imma be level. If you ask and get a No! and then drop it, then you are not the problem. You are fine to accept the answer and still chill. If you don't and fight back and call people names or accuse them of things (I am not saying you did, I don't what happened or if anything did)
Then you are the issue because you couldn't take no for an answer.
If you accepted it and people just got more insulting over time for no reason... Well they start to become the problem. Don't beat yourself up over it. If people say no, stop begging and move on.
