You do not need them with workers. And they only cost $300 each. If you wasted tonnes of money, that's on you for not checking stuff out first. Take them to pawn shop and haggle for some money back.
Maybe if it held more than one bag, could be stacked on the water dispenser or something it'd be worth using, otherwise it takes up to much room to really be worth using.

players are way faster than employees, the dirt dispensers save so much time because you can hit them with the watering units at the same time and have a fully watered pot by the time it's filled, you can't do that with the bags AT ALL. - you have to wait till the dirt is in the pot.
in a chain of planters of like 20 or more, that's a massive time sink.
