This game's "Fun" is an Illusion

I will honestly say this game scratched my itch for being productive in developing an efficient logistics pipeline, but it very quickly turns into a chore walking simulator. All aspects of actual game play are so lukewarm and lacking any varied situations that could bring any meaning. The map is extremely small, and when you get to the point of having multiple employees and more than two locations, the game will be a stuttering mess of hitches.

Yeah, it's kinda fun making weird drugs that have strange side effects, but that novelty quickly dies off. And I know this opinion isn't going to be received well, because the grand majority of players on hear are hedonistic in nature, but this game downright promotes drug use and the solicitation of them.

I mean, it's an early access title that most likely has years of content updates ahead of it, assuming the dev is truly passionate. I do think some of the hype is overblown, but I think it's fun for what it is and I never would have found myself enjoying a game like this unless there was so much buzz around it. As for it promoting drug use, highly disagree. This game may have names of real drugs in it, but it's very goofy in its presentation and, at least to me, is fun to play because it's charming and there's a lot of satisfaction in creating and selling. The product being drugs has no bearing on that enjoyment, the game could be about being a baker and going around selling pastries and I'd still love it.

The game, in it's silliness, makes light of some of the most harmful substances that have plagued communities. Specifically it's lightheartedness towards meth use. That charm, the game displays is a disguise meant to inspire a new generation of use.

To add onto my argument against this game's promoting of drugs, that's like saying GTA encourages people to seek criminal lifestyles because it's so easy and lucrative in those games. In real life you don't frantically run around a small town and get everybody addicted to meth, shoot the police and go about your day like normal. Again, this game is goofy and highly exaggerated. There's no pro or even anti drug message in it (well except the disclaimer at the start), it's just a fun concept for a game. There are actually harmful "games" in the adult section on Steam that make Schedule 1 look like Teletubbies

sounds like every successful game. fun only keeps you around for that long, but addictive mechanics keep people around for years. only extraordinarily fun games become successful above their expectations without addictive and time consuming mechanics

The game is underdeveloped, I will admit, but I suspect it'll really take off once the dev introduces things like police raids and rival gangs, things which can disrupt your otherwise constant forward progress. I agree that the game in its current form is mostly fun for the novelty aspect, and that the later game content is lacking, but I imaging both of these issues will be addressed in the future. My only hope is that they're addressed BEFORE the dev adds new things to make and new parts of the map.
