Controller Support

Does this game function well with a controller? Want to pick it up and try it on my deck.

I do. Via steam you can enable any game to work with one. I sometimes use a template to start with and remap from there. This time I just looked at the keyboard controls and made my own config that I am still tweaking. Game plays fine although I am sure I am slower when it comes to selling to customers vs someone using the mouse. I use an Xbox controller.

i think the dev said he wants to try to get it to work on the steam deck, which means seeing controller support would be a plus as well where it's concerned

+1, I prefer using controller even on my desktop. Steam Input never feels like a good alternative unless you're desperate to play on controller

My Xbox controller works good enough until actual in game controller controls with a custom community controller setup through Steam Big Picture Mode.
I have played for over 40 hours just fine this way.

could we make on there LB and RB switch between the items and L2 if left click and R2 is right click, x is interacting with people or things dpad to choose conversation Left stick wasd Right stick to pour blah blah blah to lazy can someone do that

My steam deck works fine with this game. You might want to rebind the keys because the binds are shown as the keyboard keys and i also don't like the default layout

I would love native. im sick of mapping for developers. I tried to use steam input on Demo and it didnt even move or work.

Like yeah would be nice but me and the gf just use it all the time and the hotkeys like move one item at once or the hold stack
