getting chemist to use meth lab/oven

so i just got the barn and set up some stuff with a chemist who i assigned to an oven, chemistry station, and two different mixers. the chemistry station's destination is the oven, then the oven's destination is the mixer, and finally the mixer destination is a shelf. i made sure the chem station has a recipe for it and there are shelves with ingredient all there too (but i dont see any way to say the employee should go to a shelf? maybe that is my problem?)

i am using the current beta, though i dont believe there were any changes to how these guys worked. i recall having issues before in not seeing them work so, what am i doing wrong?

Chemists are not that self sufficient. You need a handler to load the mixer with ingredients. Can do the same with loading the chemistry station with ingredients but it can be a waste of handler routes, you can top it up yourself every 3 days instead.

ah, so the handler is the one that must put supplies into things like the chem station? i didnt realize, thought they were just for packaging goods.

I don't think that's the case anymore. They should be able to nice finished product to a new mixer, but you need the handler to move the mixing ingredient in. This is sending bugged for me too however
