Your dealers will send you a text if they run out of merch to sell.

They keep texting you that they ran out of stuff. I don't remember being contacted by anyone i assigned to them, so I don't think so. You'll just lose possible sales.
I had Benji run out once, and didnt get any texts from any of his customers.. but He was only without product for maybe half of a day .. maybe over a day without product they might ?
test it out, take product from one of your dealers and run a day or two ..see if any text you
Customers assigned to dealers won't text you, but they will chase you down in the streets or show up at your properties to ask for a fix. Depends on their addiction levels.

Highly-addicted clients will do this anyway even if their assigned dealer still has product, so no need to panic that someone ran out while you weren't looking. ;)

Aside from the texts they send you about being out of product, the only effect of a dealer running out is there's no regular sales being made to their clients. Best to top them up before they run out of course, just to keep the revenue stream steady(-ish), but a short outage won't have any catastrophic effects.
