What are me and my friend supposed to do to play together?

When me and a friend tried to get together to play the game, when he hosted, my game would simply not load and i'd get stuck on a infinite "Loading Map" Screen and vise versa, we tried just about every method we could find to try fixing this, reinstalling the game didn't work, verifying files integrity didn't work, deleting save files didn't work, changing the game's version to beta did't work, sometimes my game would load but even though when pressing ESC it said we were on the same lobby but we were actually in our single player worlds. any acknowledgment from the dev in this issue? we kinda gave up on the game cause this problem until the dev fixes it or something

Try completing the tutorial, whoever is hosting, then save and restart so it updates. Join that game.

in commands type cleartrash then save worked for me and my partner .. not my fix found it on another post

U need to be in the main menu then invite ur friend first if he never joined u before & then start the game with him in your lobby (look at the right corner of the screen in the main menu)
