Right now you're kinda beta testing it. You're helping figure out what mechanics and systems work, figure out the balance of those systems, etc.
This opinion is based on what? Certainly not based on the roadmap that you clearly didn't read nor is it based on the regular videos that the dev has put out where you can see him working on the game and he discusses his plans for the game.
McDonald's made their money too, but they still serve burgers. Elon Mush and Bill Mates still go to work every day. My doctor drives a Mercedes and owns a mansion, he still shows up to check my pulse.
So much cynicism on Steam - a platform meant for fun, games and discretionary spending.
Lmao Elon spends so much of his time on Twitter that he's leaving his position in most of his companies, maybe not the best example
I did the run thru where I tried everything, and the maxing out all the money, etc. But I found I really like the relaxing part of mixing for fun effects, instead of profit. After a few days, you have plenty of money to just have fun, and do the parts you enjoy. I even like spending random times of picking up trash.
That is why I love games like this, you can do whatever you want. No hard timelines, or rushing thru it. You don't have to play like other people, you can play your own game, and not get penalized for it. Looking forward to any updates, but i have enough to keep me busy till then.
Guessing you've been burned by Early Access games in the past? I know the feeling all to well sadly. Early access is a crap shot, either we're lucky and the dev's finish the game, or at least leave it in a state it can be played in that is still fun, or they do a rush job, screw the game over and/or walk away with the money.
Because of things like this, i've stopped buying early access and putting them onto my wish list so i can check them out another time. Unless i'm either sure the game will be finished, or think there is enough content to be worth buying into. I've got a good feeling about this game, and it has enough content to be worth the price as is, even with the bugs.
