Save file deleted from steam cloud

I've been playing on my PC and thought I'd try it out on the Steam Deck. I downloaded the game, started it up, and noticed there was no save—thought that was weird. I closed the game, but that action ended up overwriting my actual cloud save with nothing. And now, after starting up my PC, what does Steam do? It syncs the cloud save and deletes my real save. All the correct folders for the save are there, but they are all empty folders. Like properties owned, employees and so on.
Latest backup if from a month ago. Learn from my mistakes, Steam Deck is a iffy piece and backup your saves yourself.
If anyone knows some kind of dark magic and can help me, then please.

I just had this same issue happen to me. Although, I have my files still on my computer.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, don't use Steam Cloud.

There have been and seemingly continue to be problems with it and nearly all lost games, lost drugs, money, people and staff are down to it.

I think Tyler has been crunching the code on this, to consolidate the multiple save files - which may be the problem.
