Yeah, use them all the time. I know the game doesn't currently reward good product properly yet but I take pride in my work.

And if it does change soon, I'm good to go

Nothing really to it. One bot to Eight and send it.

For weed, you'll want 5 pots to 3 racks (assuming you have 12 buds each growth cycle). Assign the botanist to the pots and racks but have the output of the pots to a storage self and the racks to a separate shelf. Then assign a handler to route from the raw buds shelf to the drying racks (3 routes) then you can route the shelf with the dried goods anywhere you want (Total 4 routes+1 to spare). Most people have just blue star for their standards so its not a big deal but it will be in the future from what I understand. Coca has different ratios, still working them out but seems 6 to 2 drying racks right now. You can also have the Drying Racks output directly to another object and not a shelf, just bear in mind that you might get different outcomes.

Oh and one more thing, each level/star takes 12 hours game time (12 min real time) and will continue to try after 4 am when time stops. Not sure if that's intentional or not.

Thanks for the ideas. I've tried daisy chaining racks, gradually raising the quality, it sort of works and then it doesn't. The reason I wished it worked was having the first rack from the pot locked up with drying stops further cropping from the pot until the rack clears and this sucks.
It'd be good if the input and output of things could come/go to multiple sources.

I go from pot to rack - once only - get it to heavenly, and send straight to cauldron. Botanist does all of that. I run my pots with fert' and both speed potions and racks stay clear. Each Botanist is 4 pots, 4 racks.

With 12 pot/rack combos doing coke, 6 cauldrons/ovens, mixing to 8, with 6 dealers/48 buyers, I am easily in front of supply.

They are an automation, they replace the need to buy fertiliser which means you stack shelves less often because you can have 6 seeds and 2 soil on a shelf.

A lot of the decisions you make in this game is about how automated you want to play. Mixing is the same, you can skip it completely if you want to play more hands off or don't enjoy the stacking shelves simulator.

Or you can use fert' to speed up the drying process... although I haven't tested how much quicker that is.

Each level is 12 hours game time, so starting from 1 level higher saves 12 hours.

The other way to go, I suppose, would be to produce more stuff of lower quality and just leave it to dry for longer, which I might do if I have no workers and only occasionally swing by to harvest/replant at the location.
I like how trash quality produce can still be made heavenly. It's like magic.
I'd like to mod it to allow many:many situations for shelves and racks and machines so then I could have a pipeline of leaves on racks maturing along the way to the end but I'm too all over the place to concentrate on anything lol.
