Backup save files manually and locally

Has anyone surfed to the save directory and yanked a copy to put elsewhere for safe keeping? I'm nervous with probably no reason to be nervous about it? I would hate to lose my time investment later down the road if Dev (I'm not saying he would) accidentally breaks something.

On a side note Skating around selling drugs after work is really relaxing and puts my mind at ease. I sleep better now thanks to the game.

haven't played the new update yet but I've been making a backup of my save on the computer I'm using to play the game and on my file server after every session

and I also cleartrash before my final save of the session so there's less files
