Quest completed but does not give me credit or advance the story.

The quest "Gearing up" is stuck for me, I collected the dead drop but it didn't register and the quest will not advance. It's still telling me to collect it even though I did, Any advice?

Do the next thing you think you're supposed to do and it should progress.

I did, please read what I wrote. It told me to collect the dead drop and I did, what more can I do?

If you have the seed, plant it, grow it, harvest it ...

I did that, no effect. Is there a cheat code or console command (ie something that would actually work) I can put in to fix this? And please stop with the guessing. Having the program bug out is bad enough, having people make bad guesses or telling me to ignore the problem (rather than fix this) is even worse. I'll just start the game over and hope the bug doesn't happen again.

We weren't guessing. I had the same problem and I carried on with whatever I thought the game would want me to do next and completed it right away. Anyone else who ran into this problem would probably just give you the same answer.

Try ordering another dead drop and repeat the action required to trigger the quest to proceed?
