I keep seeing this rationale and it’s interesting. Some people give a kind of shoulder shrug to what is considered realistic and some hone in a bit more. Expectations basically.
There’s levels of ‘realistic’ in game design but maybe preference also. If you’re going to implement a mechanic it should make sense within the boundaries of what it is.
Sure you can mix x and y and z happens and the mechanic works and ‘makes sense’ for what it is.
There is curfew and the mechanic works but does it ‘make sense’ for what it is.
You’re one of the shoulder shruggers I spoke about. That’s fine too though.
