Gameplay hours and progress disappeared?

Anyone else have an issue where suddenly progress disappears? I closed the game at 6:45pm today and when I reopened Steam at 8pm, the 6 hours I played today had disappeared and my net worth in the game dropped back to the $4.6M I previously had (vs. the $5.7M I had achieved today.

I figure this is a Steam Cloud issue, but has anyone else experienced this? Considering the $10M achievement is the only thing left to do (while waiting for new content), I'm honestly considering just giving up on it. lol
