Locking shelf slots to fixed products, possible? Mods? Alternatives?
So, I am looking to expand to more properties and restocking is a nightmare.
Even when leaving out mixing, I still kinda need soil + seeds at the minimum. No additives either.

Since Botanists can only have one source shelf, how do people set this up?
If I let handler deliver to this shelf, they could fill 8 slots with soil and no seeds, stopping the shop.
If I do this myself, I have to check back frequently.

Now, how do people handle this? I have thought about a mod to lock slots. i.e. have slots 0-3 for soil and 4-7 for seeds. Unless this is actually an option in the game that I missed?
Other than that, I think I saw a mod that auto rebuys stuff, once a slot is emptied. If I remember correctly it deducts cash accordingly, but delivers instantly. Kiiiiinda cheesy and Id like to not remove the delivery process alltogether (and I can't find this mod again. I know I saw it on nexusmods but no luck finding it again).

Alternatives?

use the smaller shelves
I have 2 botanist using the same shelves, so I opted for medium
seed-soil-fertilizer-seed-soil-fertilizer

I have 1 guy a sweatshop that I wish to speedfarm a product (small shelf)
soil-seed-fertilizer-speed grow

you can configure this mod to NOT restock some things, and I set it to not restock seeds, so there is still an element of order and deliver..

it's called " Reshelves "

Mind sharing the mods name? I may be blind, but I really can't find it. Did check like 20 delivery mods by now!

Edit: Just found it,... name is "Reshelves". And there I was searching for all kind of "delivery", "order" and "restock" lol. Well, could have come up with the term shelf for my search.
Mod seems to have a setting to adjust markup. Ill give it a 25% markup, to offset the delivery time. Making me feel less cheasy, since I pay a premium for the service. Sounds fair. ;-)

you have a couple of options.....
depends on staff and layouts for the first one. providing you can afford an additional handler who can have five routes assigned to them. so you can have say 4 large shelfs

1 = input
2 = soil
3 = seed
4 = fertiliser

then you say have 20 soil 30seed30fert on the input shelf, and then 2,3,4 store full stock of each type of material and then the handler will move product from 2,3,4 to the input shelf as it gets used

and for his 5th route (bungalow only at the minute) is from loading bay to input shelf providing overflow preoduct when 2,3,4 are dry.

or.....

you can have the input shelf only also as above 2soil, 3.... etc, then use the loading bay for two of the products and manually place in the seeds. in this design you can yet again use the loading bay to input option apart from seeds

last but not least you can calculate, your setups daily requirement on resources and at 4pm every night restock with unlimited timeframe that exact amount every day. (and/or) purposefully slow down production and limit via your design so that it only produces said amount daily

lol.. glad ya found it..
I did the same with the markup.. but only went 20%.. called it a "tip" for the driver :steamhappy:

Thanks for your input!
Your idea is the first idea I went with actually,... but Do I not run the risk of the handlers just always going for their first route? So in your example, whenever a slot in [1] opens up, they go to [2] and grab a bag of soil,... and after a day or two, Input would be full of soil and void of seeds and fertiliser?

I don't see a way to tell the handler to evenly split the available slots to different items, or balance it... or lock slots or whatever.

The idea to calculate it and only order exactly what I produce is great in theory. I did not think about that one. But I can't sell as much as I produce, so production would likely back up, and production would slow down, making the process unpredictable.

i find as long as they refill a slot that has at least one product in there what i want they are okay, but if a slot becomes empty then i get that result.

Kind of missing an option to load product from loading bay to shelf A and other product to shelf B, Only way I see this could work is if you bring over 1 item at the time no? Mixed van and it'll be all stored all overt the place.
