it has always been garbage lol

It should not require any changes but does require 7zip compression tool (which every PC should have installed anyhow). What it does is read the system time and date and calls the backup zip files daymonth_time.zip
If you're referring to my post it's NOT a mod, it's a simple startup script that backs up the save files and then runs the game as normal through steam.
Consolidated a number of saved entities into larger, combined files. This should improve save time, reliability, be less prone to bugs, and improve Steam Cloud sync time. The following types of entities were consolidated: your mixes, vending machines, ATMs, store pallets, and dead drops.
It's not bad. But why before playing, and why is it compressed in 7z?
This isn't a mod or anything else. I've looked at the script, it's clean.
That's just my preference, it's just easier to use this desktop shortcut to play the game and after a while it just becomes the norm. As for compressing well it again it's just easier and more tidier to keep single zip files than uncompressed copies of saves. Also there's no overwriting old zip files so if you play a lot you'll end up with a lot of backup zip files so easier to manually delete really old stuff.
