full screen and invites

is it not possible to exit full screen without straight up quitting the game or having a second monitor? also how am i supposed to invite friends to play? i try clicking on the "+" box where i assume your supposed to but it doesn't do anything and because i don't have a second monitor and cant exit full screen i cant directly invite anyone through steam either.

Try pressing Alt+Tab
