The best thing I think is to go with red, but change the branding entirely. Calling it Cola would be fine because that's what it is, or XYZ/Whatever-Cola as plenty of brands do that, such as Barr-Cola, which is also red. Coca is the brand signifier itself, so not having that would make you safe.
