Is addiction effective
wondering if getting my customers addicted will yield more money ? i noticed that some customers , even if they are from early areas , are offering more money and even willing to pay 200$ + when i negotiate , examples from my game are geraldine poon willing to buy 5x meth for like 900$ , while new customers with a fairly low addiction are more resistant to haggling and negotiations

I think "Loyalty" and "Rank" factors in for haggling. I noticed this from Geraldine Poon, before he'd say no to $500 counter offers, now he accepts $1.5k.
"addiction" on the other hand, makes the NPC crave for your drug. I do not know if it affects "phone" sales, but its the mechanic that makes them go to you and beg you to sell them in person.

yes, addiction will net you more money imo, personally I hate it, since they scare the b'jesus out of me.

If I'm wrong, please correct me, I am currently relying on experience alone.

I think getting buyers addicted helps. Sometimes when I just set my product for sale I'd get like three texts asking for product.

they also tend to order large quantities , the only downside is , if they didnt get to order that day they will come looking for you for a fix . and let's just say you shouldn't try to squeeze them dry then. tried that on jessie , she nearly pulled my guts out with a knife , had to make a run for it

what do you mean by rank ? do you mean the rank of the region they came from ?

Soooo, this is anecdotal experience, but... I made Ultra Monkey meth (100% addiction) and offered it at $125 as opposed to recommended $92. This is at the point in the game where I've just unlocked it and mostly have access to only the customers from 2-3 districts, the poorest ones. What happens is they order just 1-3 every time, whereas weed sold like hot cakes with them.

With this kind of customers, I did not notice the benefit of addiction at all. First of all, when they walk up to talk, the default price is the "fair price" and not my price with 50% markup, which is annoying. Second of all, they are only looking for 1 dose and when I'm trying to sell a few or sell it at $125, the chance goes down to ~80%. Leading to a reality where some of those additional "addiction sales" fail and when they don't - I have no opportunity to sell at higher price or at higher volume.

Maybe addiction is more powerful with coke and wealthy customers, but I've had no chance to test it yet. For my poor audience mass-producing cheapest drugs without wasting effort on mixing is what works best, I found.

the thing is when i'm talking about addiction , i'm not talking about the addiction salesn addiction sales always go at fair price , you can add 10$ max and they generally will take the deal if you are in the 70% acceptance range . these deals are utterly useless and not profitable at all , i'd usually just sell them one jar of the cheapest weed and get on my business.
the change i'm talking about is i noticed that addiction generally helps driving the price of normal sales through texting . and i'm saying this because i have 2 clients , one is from the first district and the second one is from downtown , both of them have 100% loyalty. the only difference is the first one from the first region has like 70% addiction while the one from downtown have 20 or less . and the addicted one generally buys more with 100 to 200$+ the initial price and i can still negotiate a + 200$ extra , for example i just sold 10 10x grandaddy purple to jessie for like 700$ while the second one only asks for 2 or 3 meth and if i bump it up to 5 and increase the price she says no , which is not the case with other customers
