Of course I want your opinion! 70 hours is still pretty good for the price.
Yeah it is worth the money. I actually have 100 hours into the game, and am still playing it for an hour or two a day.
In Schedule 1 there isn't that much to do yet, but .. it's new .. early access and therefor it lacks the major things Taylor want to put into the game. We know what is coming due to the roadmap. Where things are a bit more different here is that you have the freedom to go about it as you please .. you can choose to play around with mixes .. you have many different seeds to play with .. and you have help. Personally I feel this added alot to the sim genre, as usually it's per say quite linear way to get to the top .. in Car Mechanic .. fix the cars .. as you progress, more engine types to fix, more problems with cars .. repaint and such .. but .. not anything like build in your own style .. add a "flair" to the job... same for PC builder mechanic ...
Farming Sim is different than others as they have given the player lots of things to do, and you can, like in Schedule 1, go about it as you see fit. You have your fields, but you can choose ( down the line as you progress ) to go into treefelling and work at that .. you can take on jobs for others and so on. You have your freedom to get your millions the way you want, and you get to buy alot of things, machineries, animals and more to your homestead/main plots.
American/Euro Truck Simulator is kinda in the same area. You start by being rented out until you can afford to buy your own truck, and start up. From here on, you'll build your company and can hire drivers, you buy the truck you want, paint and add accessories as you want, and they will now make money for you ( think like your dealers in Schedule 1 ). You can choose any jobs you want, and drive where you want.
Schedule 1 is taking bits and pieces from all of these, and have done very good on most places but lack in other places. I won't mention much about what and where as for the most part these things are personal opinion for everyone. What you like and dislike differ from what I like and whatnot. But .. again, remember that the other sims that I have talked about here are finished released games, whereas Schedule 1 is in it's first month of early access with lots to come...
I do believe we will see alot of changes down the line for Schedule 1, and I, for one, are looking forward to see how this gets implemented.
Sorry for the wall of text, but I hope it help you somewhat in your research.
My only critique on the game is the Late game Progression with how it's gotten a bit annoying and tedious needing to Bulk-Order all my materials and grinding every drop of daily XP so I can finally unlock the next region. I'm stacked on cash and Bank and only spend my time waiting around and selling cheap stuff over and over. Currently I just need to reach the last Region but the XP grind to get there is a bit much.
A few QOL things I would suggest for the game is:
• Automated Ordering and Restocking.
• A Management Desk where I can easily dump money and it will auto-pay and distribute everyone in the facility without going bed to bed.
• Auto-Money Launderer, I wouldn't mind paying a small fee to someone if it means they will auto-launder my money to all 4 facilities.
• Better Combination Chart UI, currently it's a bit messy on seeing what combinations go where and what their valued at. Would be neat for there to be a Graph/Diagram or something to better see what does and leads to what.
• Bulk Distribute Produce to every Dealer, Could have a station where it handles giving produce to any assigned dealers, which when the dealers are not doing anything and have an empty slot, they will come by a facility and re-stock on this Dealer Storage Station.
A few Personal things I would like for the game:
• Rival Gangs; Going in, with how it mentioned the Cartel had ruined my SUV I was expecting being able to engage in combat with them from time to time. I would love to take out rival gang operations and take their loot and make good XP from it.
• Improved Relations with NPCs; While a bit much of an ask and probably not too necessary for this type of game, each NPC/Dealers could be expanded on having more backstories and relations. Upon maximizing their Happiness, you can optionally expand their personal relationships with you by asking if they need help with something. And when you do personal task for them and increasing personal relationship stats, it opens up more possibilities of features exclusive to them, like maybe additional exclusive purchasable items, expanding their Drug Preferences, them increasing their buying price, being a follower/body guard, Increase in Dealing Capacity/Speed, and so on.
• Expanded Inventory; I think it's been confirmed that backpacks will be added which is neat, but maybe with the addition of backpacks, it would be neat to include a skateboard slot that can be activated with a keybind, making going into the board more convenient without occupying a vital slot.
• In the Far Future, possible multiplayer PVP rival Gangs; Maybe as a separate mode and massive new map, one can make a PVP focused mode where each player/'s can team or face against each other by selling the most while sabotaging each others operations. Hire body guards, steal produce, make bank, and more. Could be a fun side game mode but feels like the type where it wouldn't be match based (Lasting minutes to hours) but be based on a [Single-Host save slot] among friends, or an active server that can last some real time. All and all, it's probably best left as a fun mod rather then an official feature as to not divert time into a niche gamemode. But maybe it could be a fun collab the dev and mod makers could do, hiring the modders to work on the multiplayer pvp while the dev focuses on the base game as to avoid priority conflics. Just a thought, nothing serious!
Sorry if I got a bit off Topic, got a bad habit of going into full-blown detailed Essays from time to time. Hehehe
Hoping there are more ways to interact with all of the NPCs socially, or maybe deal with police raids and interrogations. I mean, how can they not realize the giant pile of trash bags outside the Chinese restaurant?
Haven't played many simulation games, but this game was so satisfying. I spent hours clipping marijuana buds and loved every minute of it lol
