You can kinda softlock yourself

I kindly introduced myself as Bat Man to the Motel Manager. She did not believe me. So I showed her my bat. After that she did not wake up and I could not get a room.

All jokes aside. Maybe it should not be possible to knock out essential NPCs.

well..."normaly" you cant...but there is a bed in the docks, you can just jump over the wall (using the containers)

At that point in the game can you really call it a soft lock even? The prologue is only for story/tutorial purposes so you can just skip that and start over. Nothing lost but a few seconds of time.
If you make any mistakes later on that you think can't fix it, just quit and restart and you'll be at the beginning of the day again. Nice and easy.

Well at this early point in the Game I see no issue the restart with skipping Prologue

I just tried that. It does softlock you. The police kept putting me in the burning RV. I bought a bed and jumped the warehouse fence and tried to put the bed there but it did not work. The only thing you can do to progress at that point is use console command "setowned motelroom".

Nope, they respawn. And so do NPC's. I took a baseball bat to Pawn Shop dude, beat him until he stopped moving and threw him into a garbage bin and closed the lid. He was still at work the next morning.

Here's another way to soft?/hard-lock yourself:
Crouch behind your employee ontop of a plant/while the assigned shelf is full. When the only way out is forward and the employee is locked in it's animation due to the full shelf, you can't get out. Hence -> Disable Collisions with employees please.

The cops already met Bat Man and I dumped the corpses in the ocean. No cop respawned after that .
