Can't move "story" along. Benji won't become dealer

It says I need to become friendly with his contacts, but all the contacts connected to him are in the friendly or higher status. It just keeps it greyed out and won't give me the option to have him deal. Is it bugged? What do I need to do?

Make sure your giving out free samples to get new customers, you have Ms Ming with Grey zone. You might even half to max out friendly with more people. She owns the fat chinese restaurant you can knock on her door. You can also go into contacts to see potential customers locations. I hope this helps Gl

i have the same problem, wasted three days and a lot of customers, cant get benji to sell, tried closing and opening the game, even tried to beat him up, any suggetions?

Max out the rep on the customers

You actually need to max out rep with a customer, if I remember correctly ?
Also, I just want to clarify, there is no story or "goals" in this game. You are referring to the tutorial. You don't have to abide by it, if you didn't, you'd probably unlock benji naturally. ^^''
Goal is to make money, preferably the blue kind, to buy properties/tools to expand your operations.

understood. I know that, just thought things didn't unlock till your uncle told you about them. I wish it would say max it out then instead of just friendly. cuz friendly is just above the nuetral status and they're all there.

Also the pawn shop guy has been missing through several different save games. that normal?
