mixin' needs fixin'
of course the fundamental way that mixing products works is pretty interesting and can feel rewarding just messing around for personal effects on yourself or finding high priced mixes to sell for good profit! the real problem with mixing is getting it automated. why can't we have 1 big mixer vat that cost maybe 5-10k where you can hold a 100 stack of up to 8 items or so with 1 product? that way you can keep just 1 item (your mixer) stocked with items and have a chemist work it. it just feels so unintended the way you need to have a line of mixers with shelves close by and takes up so much already limited space. i'm sure this has been brought up before but just wondering what people think about it.

I've just been manually mixing and it is incredibly tedious. I didn't even try to AI it once I figured out how it worked because shelves can't hold enough to make it useful and you can only assign one shelf so.
yes it is tedious for sure having to restock the shelves every single day but i'd say it is worth it still though. when i check back i have around 100 of my mixed product instead of unmixed so it does save a ♥♥♥♥ load of time. i literally looked up a guide to help optimize how to build it with little space because i have 16 plants 2 cauldrons/ovens and 5 mixers. once all the workers beds are factored in it's pretty tight lol. would be nice to have like 3 big ass mixers instead of the assembly line.

yep, its a bit punishing, didnt try ai for same reasons.
For me it would be good enough if i could just put more in line to the mixer or a mk3 mixer or something like that would produce a product i can choose, with a shelf build in or whatever. its pain i agree on that. in best case theres a guy i can hire restocking the shelves automatically by ordering stuff so i could choos a product like cuke and say: keep it full x.x the self mixing wouldnt be so bad then.

I don't even bother mixing anymore, its just too tedious manually, and automating it doesn't seem viable either since the shelves have too low storage. I hope it will get updated soon, as well as employees managment.
It is a pain to set up but it works once you do, the problem as stated above is that the shelves can't hold enough items for one day's automation, so you need to restock the shelves more than once per day.

Simply making a bigger shelf would go a long way to fix it.

I have 4 shelves to a mixer and 8 mixers with their own items, with my current setup I have one shelf feed into the next in the sets of 4 with the last one being the one going into the machine, this gives me 3 good days of not having to rework it, I do this all in the barn currently using my other properties for producing the actual drugs
Honestly the game needs a recipe system. The way it stands the AI aren’t very useful for mixing duties. They handle other stuff pretty well, like growing and chem stuff.
