you cannot use a mod made for public game version on the beta branch and you cannot use mods that are made for beta (mono version) with the public game version...
and yes, there are already many mods out which lead to bugs, dont work probably or hindre the inital loading, becouse they are old/outdated or the modders knowladge wasnt that good or he did just a mistake somewhere. mistakes happen.
and all problems i mentioned will still be a problem even when this game eventually gets official modsupport and steam workshop... nothing would change.
That's always a risk with third party files though. Even with Steam workshop mods, it's not impossible that they could contain malware even though it's unlikely to happen.
If someone is frequently downloading third party files and not doing regular scans, that's their own fault.
FYI Backpack mod was removed/not-safe. Stack count and another one were the same.
Just make sure you use verified Nexus/Vortex ones.
