Achievement; Indian Dealer
This is 2025, can we call it 'Take-backsies' or something? Indian Giver is a racial term that the Native American community has tried for a very long time to shed, and having something like 'Indian Dealer' is just offering another generation a way to hang on to a tired slang that needs to go back to where it came from

No it isn't, ts white folk. You feel weird guilt over nothing and are now here telling everyone else to change. Many of us are more mature than to get upset over Indian dealer.
How can anyone think it was ever an insult to the first people.
Oh, btw the community doesn't use Native American, it uses American Indian or The first People. Tell me all the examples of Indians giving and then taking.
Now tell me all the other examples of people giving to them and then taking. I will wait.

It started with Native Americans not understanding the original puritanical settlers differences between gifts and trades. They thought the locals were giving gifts, the locals thought they were trading. Hence 'Indian Giver'; they took back gifts.
Then, you'd hear people use it as slang for someone who took back gifts, which framed Native people as those who took back gifts, despite being a very generous culture. Because once you make _them_ look bad? Very easy to feel better about yourself.

Sound familiar?
I always thought it was about the US "giving" the Natives land (which was theirs first but w/e) and then changing their minds and taking it back when it turned out the land had value. Thereby it wasn't so much derogatory to American Indians as much as what America did to said Indians. You'd know better than I, though.

They confused sides there. They are right about misunderstandings between two people. However there is a certain arrogance there. To assume the first people would just give you things for nothing is... yeah, arrogant.
The term is what we make it. They took a lot and didn't give back. Yet we are the ones that get sneered at for taking back assumed gifts. Sorry man, Hey, where's my land btw. I didn't gift that.

Because sadly, that is all it takes when no proof is available to the contrary. many people, including myself (Miwok from central California) Do not care as much because we know who did what, so anyone ignorant talking out their ass on it just sounds silly.
I will not accuse you of lying, nor will I assume this. I will accept your anger over this, and I will apologize that we have a difference of opinion over the phrase.

(Edit) I saw your other response to me. no more peace. Accuse me of using google and lying? Then you whine like a tiny weak willed boy that people are calling you a liar when you claim American Indian heritage? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pathetic.
You are weak and your blood is weak.
