Save the game, exit, and reload the game. The workers will "reassess" all their priorities, and so will the equipment. I've had a lot of issues with this when i reassign workers or equipment that is presently being used.
Hopefully they fix it in a patch soon, but this has been a good work around for me so far during the early access.
Saving and reloading the game has worked for me on a few bugs. But this particular one, it didn't work. I was gonna try firing the worker and rehiring them as someone said.
Honestly with these kind of bugs though, I might just put a hold on the game and play it later on when everythings fixed. 😮💨
