Schedule I

Some sort of Lawsuit happening?...
If it's true the people who are trying to hit this guy have nothing going for them unless their case is "It's better than Drug Dealer Simulator, and that's bad." Dude not even penguinz0 played that trash. The publisher is so perturbed that Schedule 1 is doing what DDS can't and what that is, is a little something called "Having a good game that holds a stable framerate and allows you to see in the dark with this crazy invention called THE FLASHLIGHT."

This is the second official response btw on the DDS discord:

The first response was pretty much the same, but people still translate that how they want to read it.

Even after this people will go on about "lawsuit" and yada yada, but they have no clue what they are talking about and also what the responsibilities are as a publicly traded company. On their own DDS discord already you can see from the emotes that most of it is toxic (toxic, thumb down emotes, etc).

It literally looks like all the Schedule 1 People kept saying, "this is like DDS but better!" that the publishers was like, "Well, we should see what about this game is like DDS" and basically got a "You should probably look into it" by legal peoples. And the game devs of DDS are getting ♥♥♥♥ on for no reason when they have nothing to do with it. It just looks like a ton of toxicity on Schedule 1 Fans part that made things difficult.

Ding, ding, ding, ding. You hit the nail on the head. The mistranslated message to the board was what kindled the entire thing, but it's been the playerbase continuously fueling the fire. The only reason Movie games even made the post, is the people were on the Dev's case about it the entire time.

It also looks like they're fully on board with an open discussion with the Schedule 1 Dev to make sure everything's good.

Yeah, I'm one of the ones that said to myself that Schedule 1 was so much like DDS, because I liked DDS, and Schedule 1 was in the same vein. It's why I picked it up. they're a lot a like, but I also find the differences with them, and I like the relaxed nature of Schedule 1 and the not super complicated mixing system.
There are thousands of games on steam that have been described as "x but better!" and it didn't require a copyright investigation. The only thing I can think of in this situation that doesn't paint DDS publisher's in a bad light is that maybe Polish copyright law is drastically different from US copyright.

Schedule 1 looks, sounds, and plays nothing like the DDS games beyond the basic gameplay loop of make, sell drugs in an open world which a lot of games also do. The reason this is so laughable and nakedly about pushing a smaller developer is because the basic styles of the two games are so wildly different.
