Kickstarter or DLC for lawsuit funds
If the DDS2 publisher actually goes through with a lawsuit, TVGS please make a $5-$10 supporter DLC, with no gameplay added, so we can help you cover legal costs. ♥♥♥♥ these scummy industry leeches.

there will be no court. the attempt will be shut down early and DDS will pay the court costs. Tyler can afford it until then.

Depending on the multiplayer package he used in Unity (Pun, etc.) the CCU costs to let us play P2P is quite expensive

fair point, but he has still definitely made some major profits from this

One dude just made about 20+ million in a month. - Taxes & steam robbery cut.

I don't think the guy needs a kickstarter lmfao. Whoever he hires will rip DDS devs to shreads, and imo its not even needed. Can prob ignore the issue because their claim is laughable.

Only thing he needs is to remember where that $ came from and not shovel off for a year like Valheim devs did. And look into a HYSA to live off for his whole life.

DDS2 devs Move Games S.A. are Polish, TVGS is American, getting dragged through EU civil court ain't cheap and can drag on for years

You... don't have to participate? WIld that games like Post Scriptum/Squad 44 can have a supporter-only no-content DLC for no reason, but doing this in anticipation of industry shenanigans is somehow bad? Just don't buy it

Wasn't 20, was barely 10, and that isn't factoring in the 33% that steam takes until you get a specific amount of sales, nor any of the subcosts. Then he also has to factor in doing the proper taxes (Something that nuclear nightmare did not do and has since halted development until they get it right.) Solo developing isn't just "GOLD!" it's a nightmare unless you're ready for the possible blow up.

That is not correct:

TVGS (Tyler's Video Game Studio) is an independent video game studio located in Sydney, Australia.

19.99 x 1 Million copies sold is how much?

You're thinking of the highest active users in the game at one time (near 500,000). Not sales. The legal documents used 400k + based on DAU

*sigh*... They're not "scummy industry leeches" for looking into it. That's standard operating procedure for an IP-holder when a substantially-similar seeming thing comes up. It very likely won't proceed beyond the initial investigation, most of the points of similarity are pretty common to just about any game about drug dealers. If he really wants to cover his ass, Tyler might do something to change up the curfew or the specific look of the dead drops or something, but that would be it.

So should CoD not have shotguns because Doom did? What are you on about here? Bootlicker

Well, good to know you're willing to be civil and rational about this rather than jumping to conclusions. That's the exact opposite of what I was saying when I said "almost all the points of similarity are pretty common to any game about drug dealers." Product, dealers, running around selling to clients, growing and mixing/cutting drugs, every game about drug dealers since Dope Wars for MS-DOS has had those, so if they DID try to sue, they would have zero basis for any of that, and Tyler would be fine. That's why there will very likely be no lawsuit, and them just looking into the idea that it COULD potentially be an IP issue means nothing, it's basically standard for any IP-holder. In fact, it's kind of required to protect against legitimate violations in the future, the "vigorous defense" standard being what it is.
Dude made millions selling the game, and doubt there will be a legitimate lawsuit that comes of this
