Do you mean dealers? They separate your bulk product free of charge and deal it to your customers.

They likely actually mean handlers, not dealers. I am wanting to figure out if this is possible as well. It would be nice to have workers create bulk product in one place and then unpack it and mix it into other products at another location.

So far I've set packaging stations to all unpack, and then connect all the routes as per usual (making sure to have a storage rack full of bricks sent to an "un"packing station at the start of the chain), but I haven't actually turned it on yet. I haven't done so yet because I noticed that once you sleep (or reload your save), all the packing stations automatically switch back to packaging mode, which is annoying.

I'm guessing its not actually possible to achieve this, but wondering if anyone else has figured out a way to do it yet.

I'm stuck at this point too and i think the unpack or pack is just a global switch for YOUR player only. not the employees. I'm guessing its because the handlers are attempting to place bricks in the "input" slots which isn't allowed.

Hopefully they'll add a clipboard option for packaging stations that allows you to switch them between packing and unpacking operations for employees.

Until then, I'm currently bulk unpacking product and putting it onto shelves myself, which sucks but still allows the rest of this strategy to work. Seems to still be much more efficient than mixing at the same site as production (due to employee number/assignment restrictions).

I found a easy way to unpack just have something to hold the shift button then just hit enter to unpack and click to move it to your hot bar and just spam it

This doesn't answer the original question, but would like to throw this advanced tip out there:

Once you get bricks, only give your dealers bricks. Every time you visit your dealers, take away any jar items or baggy items. Presto, you get free packaging from your dealers.
