For example, on a 4 mix setup
4 mixers
4 storage shelves
2 chemists
1 handler.
Chemist 1 assigned to mixer 1 & 3
Chemist 2 assigned to mixer 2 & 4
We do this so both chemists can work on 2 different machines and you don't bottleneck your mixing
Flow:
Product goes into mixer 1
Handler moves from shelf 1 to mixer 1
Mixer 1 output goes to mixer 2
Handler moves from shelf 2 to mixer 2
Mixer 2 output goes to mixer 3
Handler moves from shelf 3 to mixer 3
Mixer 3 output goes to mixer 4
Handler moves from shelf 4 to mixer 4
Chemist 2 moves from mixer 4 to brick press
Handler stamps the brick and moves to storage rack
If you want a 5 mix drug just buy 5 mixers and chain them together with their destinations so the product of one goes to the next then you supply each mixer from any shelves from anywhere in the order you want the ingredients to go to them using a hauler and pathing from shelf A to Mixer chain start point shelf B to mixer chain 2nd ingredient and so on till you have the mix you want.
Then of you want to change up the mix you just either change the path of the hauler from the shelf to the mixers or rearrange the ingredients on the shelves.
I prefer a row of fully stocked shelves of every ingredient then I change the hauler pathing to whatever chain of ingredient I want next on the list.
I also use a "display" shelving system in tandem with my favorites to keep track of recipes
I have a row of shelves for permanent recipes and I order the ingredients of the recipe on the shelf so I can just look at the recipe in my favorites and count down the list for eg if my recipe I want to make is 5 down the favorites list I look at display shelf 5 in the row and I can see the ingredient chain I have set out on that shelf.
or you can write it down on a notepad but I like to keep it all in game
BUT you have to make sure you learn the recipe path first before automating it or the Scientist will get stuck unable to proceed until you accept the prompt to learn the new recipe on the mixer that discovered the new recipe.
