Not getting xp when resting (game breaking bug)

At the end of the day when i rest it tells me none of my dealers made any sales and i get 0 xp. i know for a fact they made sales becasue i collected money from them. But when ending the day and resting it says 0 sales made and 0 xp gained. this is game breaking because ou cant progress.

Ive tried saving and reloading, removing steam cache, validating files, Im at a loss here.

Its a really fun game but when your progress is bricked like this its annoying.

you don't get xp at the end of the day contrary to that little screen that shows it level up.

you get it whenever you do the action that grants your xp, that's how you unlock things through the day without sleeping through the night.

for instance: i needed to unlock energy drinks but i didn't get enough xp to unlock them last night; i sell something, i get the xp and check the store...

viola: energy drinks were unlocked.

as for the value of money the dealer earns not showing either in that xp page, i believe this is where the bug is at although the showing of xp doesn't matter because of what i explained already.

when you collect from your dealer, it resets the counter for how much money they made because it's supposed to count how much they have made that day, then you go collect in the morning because they will sell during your sleep time from 4am to 7am SOMETIMES, (sometimes not it depends on the demand,)

so don't collect at night unless you need some cash for the warehouse, otherwise it will reset the counters and not show it in the nightly report screen with your xp.

but as for your xp "not going up," that simply is just a visual bug, you are still getting experience every day whenever you make sales and mix things and such you can test it by looking at it and then comparing it after you sell product, like i said i have unlocked multiple things through the days without having to sleep to get my xp, all that screen is that shows you how much cash was made and xp made was just showing you how much you made over the day, it is not actually giving you that xp in that moment, you already gained it.

come to think of it, it may also not be a bug at all but simply that you're only dealing at late night after 12am, to which it isn't counting xp for the previous day anymore and thus you have not earned anything yet, - not saying that's what it is but it could definitely be a contender.

its not a visual bug, i have been tracking my dealers sales they sell alot then u go to sleep and you meant to get xp which level you up say from bagman 1 to bagman 2, i am getting 0 XP and not gaining in levels. Sometines i get xp and sometimes i dont. for example i just went and sold a bunch of meth to my customers, then i went and collected all the cash from my dealers who sold a bunch THAT day. go to sleep and the screen says 0 sales from me and 0 sales from my dealers and 0 xp gained.

This happens to me when I manually save+quit after doing deals/collections etc. When I come back to the save, do 4am chores and then sleep, it says no money made that day. I'm guessing that it's something to do with sleeping. It won't track any events that occurred during the day if you quit the game session without sleeping.

I think what shaken_window is saying is that, you dont have to "sleep" to level up, lets say i need 200EXP to level up and unlock the next seed. i can earn that 200EXP in half-a-day by selling or whatever. While still in the same day, the seed will be unlocked without waiting for the next day. You dont have to "sleep" to gain the EXP. You already are gaining the EXP while doing your activities throughout the day. When you go to sleep, that thing that shows at the end is just for visual reference on how much EXP you have made throughout that day.

You dont gain the EXP at the end of the day, you gain the EXP at the moment of activity. So if you quit, and rejoin, it will only visually track the EXP you made from the moment you rejoined and the moment you went to sleep. But regardless, you have already received the EXP you made that day.

Yeah you basically can't just rest in the middle of the day without expecting the XP you gained up to that save to be dunked into the bin. That's why I'd end up going AFK to drink, look outside and come back then be ready to cook 4-5 more 8 featured strains of ultra meth, etc.
I would then leap levels and get access to stuff randomly in the middle of the night that would extend the night further as I prepared for the next stage.

It's all fun and game until you're almost finished and the update consistently forcequits your entire $500k playthrough. Everyone else enjoying the new fancy stuff and pawn shop. Me? I'm Eric Andre outside gate. Let me in! LET ME INNNNN!!!!

It has been happening to me too. It doesn't matter how you are getting XP, dealing and having your dealers deal will always get XP even if a little bit. But it keeps showing 0-0 and it is very annoying.

you clearly didn't read all that i wrote in my first comment otherwise you would understand what i said.

you are still getting that xp, it's just not showing up at the end of the day BECAUSE YOU COLLECTED from your dealer.

doing this wipes the progress from the xp counter display but DOES NOT wipe your actual progress.

the display counter at the end of the night when you sleep is only showing you the xp, it isn't giving it to you AT THAT MOMENT.

you get xp when you complete deals, it is added to you AT THAT EXACT MOMENT, not when you sleep.

what you are seeing is a visual bug.

What Shaken_Widow said is correct. You can see this for sure because if you get the xp for a level up that unlocks things, it unlocks them in the middle of the day, and you can buy them even before you go to sleep and it finally tells you that you've leveled up and gained xp.

bingo, i clarified that in my original comment.

unlocking things in the middle of the day when the xp counter hasn't shown you anything yet is a big bright sign that the xp screen isn't where you get your xp.

you get it through the day as you complete deals, the screen when you sleep is a summary and can be ignored.

You get the xp thought the day.. the end screen animation for the end of the day means nothing. I've unlocked multiple items in the middle of the day. You are getting your xp you just aren't seeing it.

hey i have been having the same issue but its different when i save on the end of the night (5am) or earlier then i load back in and i sleep i get 0 exp it doesnt appear to be visual either

Once again THIS IS A VISUAL BUG.. it means nothing.. you get the XP throughout the day as it happens.. that screen at the end of the day is basically a recap.. it means nothing.
