Is there a way to slow down level progression
I feel like I'm levelling up too fast, unlocking new products before I even get a chance to try them out or put them into a production run.

if you're talking the additives that's pretty normal since they're useful for all current substances.

Sell less drugs?
Once you get to bagman leveling slows down a lot and you stop getting stuff every level.
ignore the level ups until you are good and ready to move on and progress at your own pace?
Thanks for all the advice everyone, I think ignoring levelling is probably the easiest one here, I just started a new save with the and disposed of all the starting cash. so I have to start from complete scratch and pick up trash until I can afford an apartment etc
Go at your own pace, if basic weed is selling enough for you don't feel you have to break into meth yet just cos it's there. I've only really started to break into producing meth in levels to be able to stock my dealers after coke was already open to me(and I'd grown none of it) and I'm not using baggies for weed anymore as i have the barn as a weed farm. Also don't forget you don't lose properties when you buy a new one, you can use the sweatshop or motel room to set up and test out new drug productions.

I wanted to test speedrunning on my "SpeedRon" save.
I found the opposite. what you want actually.

To slow down experience gain:
Sell less per day to clients DIRECTLY.
Means once you have Dealer: assign as much as clients to them, you wont gain xp that much or at all if the dealers does all the dealing.

I rushed to unlocked dealers I could assign all clients if I wanted to. But this slowed my progress because of the 20% cut and the XP "missing".

You could sell small quantities (even decrease) instead of increasing the quantities you sell per deal. this will give less xp.

And focus on unlocking dealers and don't unlock the other clients (not "in your path" to unlock the Dealr/Supr)
