Mixing mechanic
So I haven't delved too deeply into this, but from what I've read, you can mix 7-8 different mixers with each strain and not only can you add the same ingredients more than once, the order they are mixed matters too.

How many different recipes are there?

Probably an astronomical number in terms of how many combinations there are. Anyone done the math? Are you talking about how many different effects there are or how many combinations are possible of effects? Because the amount of combinations is probably some astronomical number in the billions of different combinations as you can have up to 8 effects on one drug. There is probably a myriad of combinations possible.

literally millions

hell, this isn't even counting the fact that the same number of combinations also apply to base types of drug, there's four base strains of weed so whatever max combo count exists for one has to be multiplied 4x for example.
good lord.
Once you mix weed and get the first strain you can mix that new strain to make another strain it's pretty awesome i just found that out yesterday as well. A lot of thought and effort went into this game.

you can actually mix more than 8 some of the same ingredient can be added during different mixing stages to alter effects. one common used ingredient is added multiple times in different phases is cuke.

just go to "guides" and look at mix combinations there is a website with a calculator.

Thank you for this I'm excited and boy am I getting mad addicted to this game lol
So let's take meth as example where the base drug is the same (not counting quality). I'm not sure what the total amount of possible effects is, but it's at least 26 according to a list I saw.

In general, 26 effects based on 8 possible in 1 drug (assuming we would always have 8 effects) nets a total of around 1.5 million combinations (according to an online calculator, this is for when the order doesn't matter or otherwise the number would be astronomical with a million 0 at the end). Although the way mixing works, not sure if it's possible to be able to get every combination as some ingredients will by default cancel out or replace certain effects. Then of course we don't have to have 8 effects, you can do a drug with only 6 or only 4. So probably still millions of combinations? I don't know, but either way, there are a ton of combinations.

With combinations you can have up to 8 traits after mixing which can be achieved by 7-9 mixes depending on recipe.
There are 34 traits to pick from.
Citing someone elses calculation there could then be 18.5 Quantillion possible combinations.
But there exist a calculator for it online, should check it out.

With 34 that would be 18 million combinations. 18 quintillion or whatever maybe if the order of the effects would matter. But I'm not sure, I'm not a mathematician.

Viagra, Mega Bean, banana, cuke is a really solid mix I’ve been using. Gets 103$ per nug
Each effect has a value modifier tied to it, and rules that apply. For example, if you have 'Energizing' when you add a mega bean, it will convert Energizing to Cyclopean. This is why you sometimes see the same ingredient used in certain mixes more than once (for the rule based effect). So I imagine there is even more possible combinations since the order matters.

Interesting concept around mixing really, and fun to mess with.

My personal favourite right now is either 'Cuke + MegaBean + Viagra' for weed, or 'Cuke + MegaBean + HorseSemen' for anything with higher base price. Chains of 3 make production easier.

Sorry for not specifying, yes the order matter. Different sequence gives you a different strain, and the order to mix in those traits are also essential.
Im not kidding, I have sitting on my shelf some EXPLOSIVE weed.

If people smoke it they explode and die, dude. I wont sell it.

This system seems really convoluted. Surely they didnt come up with quadrillion of different names for each strain.

How are you keep to figure all this out in game with put getting a cheatsheet from the website?

The order you mix doesn't matter, just the EXISTING Modifiers on the product.

Some combinations will add an extra Modifier, and some combinations will CHANGE one Modifier into two different Modifiers.
