Bug/Need help with chemists

I have a chemist who is just standing next to (not at/in front of) a cooking station. The recipe is set, all ingredients are set, my clipboard logistics seemed correct after the 6th double check. The chemist is assigned to 2 other stations which are empty. When I talk to the chemist, all that pops up is the option to fire him. IMPORTANT: This is the 2nd chemist that has done this. Stood in the same spot, everything stated above was the exact if not nearly the same as the first chemist. I punched both chemists multiple times and with a bat, they did not change. If you need more details lmk.
