How does multiplayer work in this game?
Cause it doesn't seem like I can play with randoms. It's either single player, or make a premade lobby with people I know. And when you do make a lobby, do you make an instance where your friends and you can pop into the instance whenever you want?

So say for example, we all decide to start a new game as a 4 man team, but my friends need to go to bed, and I can still continue running the place by myself and I wait for them to come join me again.

You can invite friends to play with you, I've never joined in progress only from the main page, but I've seen the ability to right click join friend on steam friends list.

You have the same shared XP that the Host has, only the host can save, progress made in co-op doesn't affect single player. If you only played co-op you will have no single player save file. the cash you earn is independent of each other, all the deals that you get to your phones are shared between players. you all need to sleep to move onto the next day. If you have more free time to play than your friends I'd recommend you be the host, but your friends will be reliant on you for the save file.

Damn man, it was perfect if the coop game saves on each pc player so everyone continue by its own if the other players are offline…

this wouldn't work if one player starts playing alone and then another one at the same time. the solution to this would be dedicated servers or cloud only saves
They need to fix that

Eh. If you're playing with a group and want to play *with that group* this works perfectly. If you're trying to play with people sometimes and solo other times, yeah, not the best.

I mean if you wanna play coop in a world together this is the way. Just make a singleplayer game for yourself?

have a solo save and a coop save, and when the group wants to play the "host" starts it. in my group we have like 4 different sessions going on

The world is not persistent. The host owns the world. It does not run without a host. Go to your own game when your friends leave.
