When should I upgrade?

So I just purchased the bungalow, I have two workers, one botanist and one packer. I’m also starting up on meth but I suppose that’s unrelated. My question is when should I upgrade to the pots with grow lights? Do I even need to? I’m still using the starter growers, I have 8 currently setup. Thanks.

upgrade rn fr, i got them and they grow 12 instead of 8, absolutely worth it, and it also made me enough to skip barn and go straight to docks warehouse

My first play through I had to go tents till I unlocked warehouse. Second I knew ahead that the RV explodes so I took the stuff out of it before that and started with the 2 grow racks/lights/pots. They are noticeably better then the tents. Just the 2 sustained my game till I unlocked Warehouse to get more without any issue.

I tested with replacing 4 of my 8 tents to begin with, its not just that they get a little extra but they will grow faster too. You'll end up buying a couple of storage racks to keep up with your botanist.
Needless to say I replaced the remaining 4 the next day.
