What is the difference between the weed grow boxes you start with from the hardware store and getting the racking with glow lights?

the grow boxes make smaller plants with less weed

The light stands provide from 10-30% (fastest/expensive) light than the grow tent you start with. It also helps with getting pots, some boost growth and others boost harvest quantity.

There are planters boxes from the docks at night. Same place you buy lights and the rigging for it. Combine these as they are better then the grow tents.

Also if you start a new game - make sure you dismantle the grow lights / frame / pots from the RV before leaving ;) that way you start growing 12 weed per cycle right from the start

Yeah, as soon as it blew up I realized I could have taken it with me lol. oh well. gonna get my first playthrough done, then play again in a year after some updates.

Better pots and the best lighting from warehouse give you 12 buds vs the 8 I think from grow tent.
