After saving and reloading I watched one of my mixer stockers grab an obscene amount of product off the shelf, then never actually stock the machine and instead just walked outside and said they had nothing to do. Multiple mixers had the ingredients locked , as if they were being used.
I suppose I could go back to manually mixing but I spent so much time redoing my barn and was excited to have my production almost fully automated in there.
I even fired the main problem employee only to then have a chemist seemingly randomly break / bug out after.
The only other thing I can think to do or try is to fire absolutely everyone and maybe even pick up and re drop all the equipment.
This is very frustrating and it's going to cost me so much money to rehire everyone and so much time to set it all up again, and that may not even fix it.
I can fix the machine by picking it up and replacing it, but then I have to reassign all the employees and rebuy/restock the shelf. And 5 mins later it messes up again.
So... I feel your pain. But I do not have a solution, sorry.
BTW, This is a huge bug, because My 6 person team burned through 160 Pseudo, 160 Plant Seeds, and all the supplies to make $100,000 in product, but now I have nothing to sell. No recourse here, probably a total lab rebuild at this point. I blew all my money trying to figure out this problem. Hiring, firing, rehiring, moving crap endlessly, "re-routing"...
Just found that this bug is not limited to Handlers. I am experiencing the same issue with Botanists who are working with the drying rack and destination set to the packaging station. Botanist will pull the product from the drying rack, but it never ends up at the packaging station. Appears this bug effects all station to station transfers, not just "Routes"
TL;DR: I think firing the employee, and hiring a new one should resolve the issue in most cases. But if you have some dev experience, or feel comfortable changing the save files you could fix it with a text editor.
I found that the packager employee that kept stealing all the ingredients had an 'inventory.json' file filled with cukes. None of my other employees had this file.
I tried deleting the file, but steam cloud sync restored it. So I removed the cuke from his items array inside the file. After loading the game I deleted and reset his routes and he worked all day like he should. I quit, without saving, and did this again 2 more days to make sure its working.
I have now made this change to my main save, and going to start playing for real again.
I am 90% sure this was caused when I first set up my barn, this employee got stuck behind some shelves after picking up cuke. I had to pick up the shelves and re-organize my barn to make it all work again so he never got to put it down anywhere. I guess it was stuck in his pockets, and that somehow caused the bug?
I made a bug report in discord with the details, so hopefully that helps to get it fixed.
