ATM and Drink Machine Question

After robbing either an ATM or Drink Machine, or both... do they never work again or do you give it some time for the "city" to replace it? just wondering I robbed a couple ATMs to get a quick extra bonus but when I go to try and put money in that ATM it won't let me, but other ATMs work. I don't know if this is a glitch or if it is a part of realism but I am wondering if those ATMs will ever return to working?
