Store Page Decieved Me
This is a great game with great potential but look at that screenshot in the store page where the player is aiming a gun at two individuals ready to fight. I have discovered that this game consists of almost ZERO forced combat or drug competition. The only combat you'll get is if you decide to mess around with cops or very rarely a customer will get angry and attack you.

I fully understand that this content will get added at some point as the game is in early access but the store page is showing more combat than there is actively in the game and I feel quite deceived, expecting gangs to be already apart of the content. As in the first hour of game play, you are teased with talk of gangs with Uncle and get your RV destroyed only for all the quests to suddenly stop a few hours later.

I simply wish this game was more open with how early the early access is.

Did you...not read the Trello page? It's still in development and you shouldn't always take trailers as a 100% guarantee

I read the store page on the client I was purchasing the game on, a SCREENSHOT of gameplay is not a trailer.
Well then, idk what to tell you man, I got the demo here and the full game and it's fine over on my side

never complained about the game dude, games great, did you read my post? I'm complaining about the fact that there's a bit of false advertisement in the steam page.

You're literally arguing in favor of false advertising. What a sad person.

I love the game a lot but even I'll go as far as to say that I know the exact screenshot you're referring to by memory alone and to a degree it is false advertising but as you've stated, it is possible to encounter such parameters in-game but yes, bit misleading with that one.

Not trying to excuse them across the board but in the grand scheme of things, like the utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the STALKER 2 developers GSC pulled on the week to their release, this screenshot here is nothing by comparison so I can easily look past it for now. That said, I do feel like they should change it for the timing being.

I'll make several points in response to this game & OP:

  • Game just released and in EA, one person development team will take years. for 1.0
  • This is a top notch game for how bare bones it is, once you get your second home, above the Chinese restaurant, the game becomes a repetitive mindless sandbox with no challenge
  • I looked through the Steam page in regards to false advertising and the only thing I've seen thats false is at the bottom of the page under "FIGHT".
FIGHT - This is a dangerous line of work - you'll have to contend with increasing law enforcement, as well as deadly cartel competitors. Fight with fists, melee weapons or firearms.

This whole sentence is false, there is no increasing law enforcement, its always static and you don't need to fight them, completely avoidable. And I've yet to see any cartel or any competition. I don't like false advertising either, this stuff is years away or is simply a brainstorming idea which might never happen.

I gotten 34 hours of of this and i'm at my limit as there is nothing else to do and waiting for one guy to develop a game, no matter how good he is, is just delusional wishful thinking. Maybe 1-3 years down the line it will be worth another go?

There's a demo available to test the game. It's still in early access, so not everything matches the promo trailer or screenshots 100%. Don't buy it based solely on that. Check out actual gameplay on YouTube first, or wait for a proper update

Drug dealer simulator did 1000x worst with their "official trailer" vs footage of the actual game on the launch trailer.

The graphics were ten times better, you could see the temp and humidity %, the city felt more alive, and there were tons of immersive details. You could weigh the drugs before mixing, visit a strip club, get drunk at a bar, party in a mansion with girls swimming in the pool, shoot a bottle to impress them, intimidate people, negotiate directly with suppliers, pack and hide drugs, police raids, jump out of windows to escape… and none of that made it into the final game, which also had terrible graphics. So, compared to that, you're complaining about nothing—just a cop fight that’s still in the game, just slightly less developed in early access stage. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Also from the game description, the fight gif is accurate but the text it a bit misleading, that's it.

your not complaining about the game but are complaining about the game cuz theres no forced use of combat so how are you not complaining about the game again?
It is in Ea way too much work went in here to be a pump and dump ......I have faith we will see some gangland combat in the future :steamhappy:

"Did you not actively go out of your way to look up stuff that should already be available on the steam?" no one buys a game or looks at a game and immediately thinks, "I MUST LOOK AT THE TRELLO FOR THIS" unless you play roblox 24/7

not only that but even in one of the videos on the page at the end, it looks as if two people get out of a car and get ready to fight only to be shot by the player character, i agree, i love the game but seeing that and then playing and seeing theres no actual reason to be doing any of that is kinda misleading but eh

Yeah man, it's a shame. For now I can overlook a bit cheeky marketing.

Technicalities aside, that TVGS has now likely secured a vast wealth with this EA release; not only that but they're sitting on top of an absurdly solid base game that can be built into something truly special so here's hoping they deliver leading up to and on the 1.0 and keep going even further, filling in the cracks we've pointed out and expanding on the base they've got at present because it's an excellent gameplay loop on what appears to be a very lightweight design so it would be a crying shame to squander such potential.

I will actually say though, in terms of combat I'm actually really happy there's no cross hair and that it's kinda clunky to wield a gun. Makes the combat that does occur between exchanges that turn violent and incursions with police officers a bit more unwieldy which I think is great in conjunction with limited ammunition. If it's just jank then it's surprisingly fun jank in my opinion.

TVGS has made approximately $20 million in just the first week alone on this game, which, as many have already noted, is in early access... which it was advertised as being. Relax dude. It wasn't released to be a fully finished game, just one that is playable. There is going to be bugs and features yet to be added, one of which is combat with enemies. Considering the monumental success of this game and the new war chest of resources the dev has access to, I would say it is well within the realm of possibility for a full release within the year as it's likely a dev team will be assembled.
