Drying Rack Issue

My botanists are placing coca leaves on drying racks but not hanging them up. I just moved into the Warehouse on the dock. Any fix?

Botanist will move it to the rack, then you have to have it selected as a station to make them dry it.

So either have 4 growing pots and 4 drying racks, or 2 botanists running 8 each.

All employees are currently unresponsive—they either take items without working or freeze entirely. I’ve found a temporary fix: grab a skateboard and jump into the worker. This seems to reset them and get things moving again. It’s not a permanent solution, but it helps. If the issue reoccurs, just repeat the process.

I don't know the correct ratio of Planters to Drying Racks, but I have been having solid luck with the botanist growing 7 pot w/ Coca&Fertilizer Feeding into 1 Drying rack that they manage. They slightly over produce leaf, but I want that Heavenly level, so it all has to be dried. Growing with the water retaining pots, might switch to Straw pots. Anyway, what y'all gotta do is: 1) make sure your Botanist is assigned to the racks. 2) Make sure the Pots, all or some, feed into the Drying Racks. 3) The drying racks have an output, like a shelf or the Cauldron.
Side notes:
-The cauldron has a lot of storage space for leaves.
-The cauldrons will screw up if you have 1 chemist for 3 of them. If one *dings* while a worker is setting up another one, she will stop and walk over to start another Cauldron; soft locking the interrupted one. My solution is to have 1 Chemist work on Cauldron -> Oven -> Mixer. They stay busy and never screw up the chain. Dang, guess I had a lot to say.

Set a destination with a botanist assigned to the station

Just curious, I thought I could have a botanist dedicated to the drying racks, loading from a storage rack. is that where the issue is?

Does the drying rack only work if its being loaded by a botanist directly from the plants?

I have them all assigned, but the worker will not dry them. He will not work because he says he cannot move the harvest to the drying station since its full, but he wont dry them, so the station is always full.

The 'optimal' ratio is 5 pots to 3 drying racks. Which sounds perfect at first, but without a handler in the middle to balance the load, you can't set the outputs of the pots to an even number of drying racks. No matter how high you scale, you'll never be able to set the outputs of the pots to the correct drying rack, you have to have a handler that pulls them off the shelf and pops them in the drying racks, at least until botanists can pull bud from supply shelves.

Maybe I'm missing something on the employee side of things (since that is confusing to me), or perhaps y'all are using fast grow.

I just counted the number of leaves per coco pot I grow, and I get 9 each. The greatest common denominator is one, meaning that the ratio should be 20 pots to 9 drying racks.

I suppose if you use fertilizer it could make your racks work faster to get the desired quality level. My only issue with that is I find that deliveries are a pain. You have to check your shelves and make sure to order the right amount, or over stock.

I think I read somewhere that botanists are more efficient than players, where with w*** the player gets 8 fruit, but the botanist gets 10, so 20% increase?

If that's the case you'd get 10.8 leaves per coco plant (rounded up?, rounded down?)

Rounded down would mean you need 2 pots per rack. Rounded up the ratio would be 20 pots per 11 planters (GCD = 1)

Assign pots output to the rack is not enough.
You need assign botanist to the rack as well.

Like 1 botanist > 4 pots & 4 racks.

Also drying rack have some bugs too.
Once they been assigned and runnig.
You can't reassign them to different botanist.
Even you cancel everything assign to the botanist.

You have to remove everything from drying rack and reinstall them.
Then you can assign them again.

I settled on having three botanists: Two that handle 8 plants each and one that handles 8 drying racks, each fed by 2 plants. They never get back logged, and this over-produces more coca than the current game can consume.
