so people can come and go? Maybe he finds value in being able to disconnect and go do real life ♥♥♥♥ while his friends keep growing the business? I certainly hope they have shared saves like grounded or the ability to set up a server. The game was developed on Unity so the utilities to have persistent servers like what Rust does is there too.
Are you trying to be intentionally dense? "The server" is the host, or a literal person's computer. If the person is offline, there is nothing to distribute. This discussion is trying to suggest that this should not be the case, and you should be able to continue the save even when one of your friends (specifically the host) is offline.
People want to run their own server with their own rules/mods to play with friends or allow friends to play when they are not around, it's a growing trend most games that fail never implemented dedicated server support.
