Schedule 1 compared to DDS?
Feel free to pipe in with your own opinions

I’ve seen some negative reviews, and comments in the discussions saying Schedule 1 is a rip off of DDS. While a minority, I think it’s kind of an insult to the game, and dev since it’s just one guy, as in my opinion, schedule 1 offers a much more fun / satisfying gameplay loop than that of DDS.

All while having an artstyle and world that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

1 guy made this and I’ll be quite real and honest, that does gain brownie points from me, especially when it’s a good game. It might rip off some aspects of DDS but Schedule 1 nails the fun.

It’s fine to have more loyalty towards one product over another, pun intended. DDS was the first real drug sim (as far as I’m aware), so I think DDS walked so Schedule 1 could run. Again, just my opinion. Schedule 1 Free sample was awesome, and while I’m only a couple hours in the full game with a friend, I’ve seen enough to know this is an awesome game.

DDS basically started as a scam and ended up as abandonware. Schedule 1 is already better in every respect.

IMO DDS2 is by far a better experience as of today. This game shows alot of promise but there's some seriously game breaking bugs right now which are going to negatively impact your gameplay experience.
Well, you can answer the question with yes and no. Schedule indeed takes things and mechanics from DDS, no question. But it gets put into they're own World. Like, as far as i saw the map aint a 1to1 copy to DDS, there are other characters, there are other graphics... I'd say (so far, i am only at ~3 hours) Schedule takes stuff from DDS1 & 2 and combines them into something own, maybe even better.

Weed Shop 2 came out around three years before DDS, but that's more like Supermarket Simulator where you're running a shop, DDS was the first street dealer game.

Or at the very least, the first one to get popular. Like how Resident Evil or Metal Gear aren't the first horror/stealth games, just the ones that made the genres popular.
