Im having the same problem, clipboard does not work properly. It has 2 layers with buttons. Also had problems with assigning things to the cleaner.

Agree.. Start the game 3 times and not able yet to designate pots "destination"... the clipboard is broken.

We're stuck on the "Set the pot/grow tent destination" step and he's not doing anything but watering the plants for us. We're stuck and this sucks.

I'm stupid I figured it out. We needed to use the clipboard to assign the POT to a destination storage shelf. Then our botanist got to work.

try opening the clipboard and selecting the botanist. It then has an option that lets you assign them a bed. Was having the same problem and worked for me

Had the same problem, it is only a confusion. Here is the solution:
- Hold the clipboard
- Go to the employee
- Press E to talk to them while holding the clipboard
- Click on Bed that is shown on the clipboard when talking to the employee
- Now walk to the real physical Bed you want to give to him and left click on it

The only problem is I can't even find my employee... It won't let me asign a bed to him. No idea what to do

Can’t select pot for botanist. Was able to set beds and work destination but can’t select the pots for them. Not sure why. I was able to select all pots and add preferred seeds for each and additives.

Have you moved property? They will be at the property when you hired them. Its a very annoying as even assigning a bed in the new place they go back to the old property so losing out on work time travelling back and forth.

Worked for me, its just not that obvious.
But after explaining it that way makes sense now :D
